You can be a saintsaints-in-heavenMany people feel that they could never become a saint; the standard is way too high. Saints are "Holy Ones", people with excellent moral character who belong to God.  Saints live in heaven with God.  But here is Good News; God tells us in the Bible that becoming a saint is open to all people now on earth.  This means you could be a saint! You could have a place in heaven forever!

Saints currently living on earth are in the Bible!

Saints on earthSaints on earth - ordinary Christians!

Look what is written in the Bible by Apostle Paul, opening his letter to the Ephesians:-

To the saints who are in Ephesus, ...
Ephesians 1:1

Here we see that living Christians at church at EphesusEphesus was a large city  near Selçuk in Turkey today. are termed saints.  These were ordinary living believers in the church at that time.  Every Christian is called to be a saint, a holy one, a person sanctifiedSanctified = separated from the world and made holy (by Jesus Christ). by Jesus Christ.

Saints on earth do not have perfect lives.

The Bible records a number of failures by saints:- Apostle Peter once seriously compomised the faith.  He was centured by Apostle PaulBut when Peter had come to Antioch, I (Paul) withstood him to his face, because he was to be blamed;
.                             Galations 2:11
.  Apostle Paul and Barnabus had a severe disagreement... the contention became so sharp that they parted from one another....
.                             Acts:15:39
over the merit of taking John Mark on another mission following his previous failure.  King David of the Old Testament, the man with "a heart after God" once failed so badly that he committed adultery, then murder. The good news is that God is able and did restore all these saints.  There is hope for you.

Saints have a great future.

The end of the world is near.  When the Lord Jesus Christ returns to the earth, His saints will return with Him... "Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints,
.                             Jude 1:14
... at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.
.                             1 Thessalonians 3:13
. The saints alive on earth will rise to meet Him.... we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.  And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
.                             1 Thessalonians 4:17
This is the beginning of eternity. The saints will take part in the judgement... the saints will judge the world ...
.                             1 Corinthians 6:2
of the world and enjoy the pleasures of heaven forever.... there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying; and there shall be no more pain, ...
.                             Revelation 21:4

God declares people to be saints!

What about Mary MacKillop?
Mary MacKillopMary MacKillop was declared the first Roman Catholic saint for Australia in October 2010. The Church of Rome uses the process of canonisation to create new saints from people who have died many years earlier. Only a select few of the members of this church become saints. The Bible knows nothing about these saints! The Bible teaches us to pray to the Father in Jesus' name.... Most assuredly, I (Jesus) say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. ... Ask, and you will receive, that you joy may be full.
.                             John 16:23, 24

God declares people to be saints. "Saints" is the common word to describe ordinary Christians in the New Testament.  No one by their own efforts can be good enough to be a saint.  They are delared by God to be righteous on the basis of faith.... his faith is accounted for righteousness.
.                            Romans 4:5
They have responded to God's call with faith and their sins have been forgiven.  The whole process from start to finish is God's plan and His action.  But having said this, right now you have the opportunity to become a saint and be sure of a place in heaven.  To do this you need to become a Christian and take up God's offer of love and forgiveness.

What about miracles?
Saints are saints because of God's plan.... He (God the Father) chose us (saints) in Him before the foundation of the world, ... having predestined us ... according to the good pleasure of His will,
.                            Ephesians 1:4, 5
Whether saints are used by God to work miracles or not is irrelevant! If you need healing then you can pray directly to the Father in the name of Jesus. A good local church will be willing to pray with you and encourage you.
